Plant Shopping with Joyfully Green – 3 House Plants You Won’t Kill

Fall is planting season in the Green Household! With the summer bright colors withering away, I crave more greenery around the house. One of the topics you guys always ask about is which types of house plants is easy to grow and you won’t kill in 2 weeks. So today, I’m going to take you plant shopping at my favorite nursery in Houston.

I always go to Enchanted Forrest in South Houston for their great greenhouse selection. I am in my comfort zone when I am hunting for plants all day! When you are going to be on your feet for a long time, Comfortiva shoes are my go-to. They always have high quality material and insanely comfortable styles. I particularly LOVE the new Cordia Bootie for fall. The Cordia boot is a fashionable, polished take on the hiker boot trend. It has a nod to men’s wear with a cap-toe and sleek boot body. I have been looking for a lace up leather bootie with character since last fall and I am so glad I found the Cordia. Wondering what to wear with your lace up booties? My favorite way to style the Comfortiva Cordia is with distress jeans, a graphic tee and jean jacket. Another way to style a leather lace up bootie is with a midi skirt or maxi dress. The Cordia is dressy enough for both. I trekked through gravel, slippery wet ground and walked all day and stayed so comfortable. The memory foam footbed in-sole is something you must feel to be thankful for! I searched all through the greenhouse and here is what I found:

Colorama Madagascar Dragon Tree

This variety has a pinkish purple tone and looks amazing potted. It grows into a taller “tree” type and thrives in low light. I have another variety that has grown a foot since I brought it home. I water 1 time a week and it seems to be plenty. Caution if you own a cat or dog to keep this house plant out of reach.

Aloe Vera

Succulents and cactus get all the love but I am a fan of Aloe Vera! These plant babies don’t need a ton of water so they won’t feel your black thumb neglect. I typically stick to the same 1 time a week watering schedule and they seem to do well!

Pothos Vine

Pothos vines are my most asked about plants in the house. I looooove the long, leggy, leafy vines and they photograph beautifully. The Pothos plant grows super fast and is rewarding to watch the vines get 10-15 feet long! It also shows physically signs of thirst so you will have a visual reminder of when to water.

I cannot wait to see all the new plant babies you guys will bring home! Pick up the Comfortiva Cordia too and make it your plant shopping bff!
