Gift Guide for Dads on the Go – Something to Wear, Eat, Want and Need
Brought to you by my friends at Signature by Levi Strauss & Co. As always, all thoughts are my own
I will always remember the night met Kevin. It was the summer of 2006, at a local pizzeria. We were both just kids (or more like 20-year-old college students) introduced by mutual friends. Young, brave, adventurous, hilarious and with a sparkle in his eyes – this is how I will always remember him, on that night. Some things truly never change. 12 years later, Kevin is still my uplifting, positive ray of light. That sparkle in his eyes shines even brighter when he sees Kai. Because he is such a thoughtful and sentimental person, I wanted to do something special/unique this year for Christmas.
Our word of 2018 is INTENTIONAL. Therefore, I want his holiday gifts from us, his biggest fans, to be warm, loving and deeply connected – exactly like how he makes us feel. If you are looking for a meaningful gift guide for dads on the go, I’ve got a special treat for you! I’m sharing my very personal take on gifts for dads this year.
To make it simple, I’ve kept it under $200 all together and stuck to 4 categories - Something to wear, eat, want and need. The box is themed Dad on the Go as a nod to his adventurous nature and to give him something to remember us by when he is away.
Something to Wear:
Because adventure calls for dressing the part, I chose Signature by Levi Strauss & Co.™’s line of men’s jeans as a travel wardrobe staple. They are so comfortable, Kevin can feel relaxed whether waiting for a flight or running through terminals. Kevin is also super picky with it comes to the fit and flex of the jean fabric. The Signature Jeans line has flex built into their fabrics so they are never too tight, always just right! The flex is also amazing for all day comfort. Plus, being a dad requires running, bending, lifting in a second’s notice. The flex fabric handles all Kevin’s duties like a champ! Signature by Levi Strauss & Co. Men's Slim Fit Jeans in Falcon is my new favorite pant on him (of all time). The color is modern, easy to wear. The slim cut makes it perfect for dressing up with a sport coat or dressing down with a henley.
I love that Signature Jeans embody the idea of True Together. They value promise, commitment to things that endure, just like Kevin does for our family. Signature by Levi Strauss & Co.™ offers an incredible value, with high quality and durable materials at amazing prices.
I loved them so much, I included the Signature by Levi Strauss & Co. Men's Slim Straight Fit Jeans in his gift guide. For under $22, these are some of the highest quality I’ve seen on the market!
I maaay or may not have picked up a couple of pairs for myself too. I am wearing the High-Rise Ankle Skinny Cut Off Jeans in Wild West, which is a god sent for shorties like me (5’3”). The high-waisted design is a MUST for mamas like me. Chasing around a toddler almost always requires squatting down like a champ. These jeans pass with flying colors. For a dressier, full length look, I chose the Low-Rise Jegging in Rhythm. Styled under a lace-dressy tee blouse, I felt comfortable and classic.
Something to Eat:
Kai chose this one for Kevin and it just melts my heart. She insisted on getting him a giant peppermint covered marshmallow. I love that she chose this gift and told me “daddy will like it”. If you are looking to personalize it even more, something home made here would be so sweet too!
Something to Want:
For the traveling, adventurous dad on the go, something to want is a durable traveling case and pampering essentials. Away Travel always carries Kevin’s favorite luggage line and I wanted to add to collection with the Away Mini case or the The Dopp Kit. That way he has a functional way organize all his essentials. I also included a set of wireless headphones for his case inside his organizer to make his trips more soothing. Maybe you can even fill dad’s phone with a “HOME” playlist to remind him of you!
Something to Need:
This category I tend to interpret as need for our mind and soul. When Kevin is away, I just wish we could wrap him in a big hug. I want him to feel Kai’s hands and touch forever, even for the times he is not with us. We preserved Kai’s hand print using keepsake kit and make it into an ornament. I hope this is a gift he will treasure for years to come. I imagine him putting his hands up to her handprint to reminisce on this special age. Okay, okay, I’m not crying!
