How Hill’s Pet Gives Back Year-Round

How Hill’s Pet Gives Back Year-Round

Thank you, Hill’s Pet Nutrition, for sponsoring this post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own

It is no secret that here in the Green household we have a special place in our hearts for rescued pets. It all started when we adopted our dog Olie almost 5 years ago. Olie had a rough few weeks before being rescued and fostered. He was found along with his mother and brother abandoned, malnourished, and covered in fleas. Him and his brother both had severe heart worms and almost didn’t make it. If it weren’t for the help and care of his shelter, and foster parents, we wouldn’t have him to call family today.

We first met him when he was around six weeks old and fell in love at first sight, this sweet boy had to be part of the family! That is why it has been such an honor for us to spread the word about Hill’s Pet Nutrition and the love they have for shelter pets as well. We initially felt connected to Hill’s Pet Nutrition because of how their foods are back with so much science and research. But when we learned about Hill’s impact on shelter animals, it just tugged at our heartstrings, especially with Olie’s background.

In fact, Hill’s has a dedicated program directed toward providing for pets waiting on their forever home. The program named “Food, Shelter & Love”, was created in 2002 as part of the company’s mission to “Enrich and lengthen the special relationships between people and their pets.” In the past 17 years Hill’s has provided over $290MM of quality pet food to the 800+ shelters they support across North America. MILLION! Let that sink in for a moment!?. Which is why our family will continue to buy Hill’s products because we know what they stand for and what we are supporting.

According to The Humane Society, in the United States it is estimated that between 6-8 million cats and dogs enter shelters every year. If you are looking for a furry member to join your family this holiday season, start at the shelter or local rescue group! We really couldn’t imagine our lives without Olie and Atlas.
