6 Hair Styles in 6 Days without Washing your Hair - Best Dry Shampoo Review
Thank you Pantene for sponsoring this post. As always, thoughts and opinions are my own.
What does every mom or woman in the world want? More time! With only one kid and running my own business, sometimes I run out of time to even brush my hair, let alone wash it. I have naturally thin, shiny hair with oil build up at the top, and zero volume. When I skip wash days, you can REALLY tell! Thank goodness for the invention of dry shampoo but I just found out about the brand new Pantene Waterless Collection with five products in the collection, but I’ve found myself gravitating toward three of the five as unique hair weapons to help me between wash days. With a new baby on the way and even less time on my hands, I am determined to train my hair to look good for 6 days without washing it. Today, I am sharing 6 hair styles, my 3 waterless secret weapons from Pantene and some awesome before and after’s. I dare you to try this with me and report back! How long can you go without washing your hair? I swear this combination is the best dry shampoo/waterless shampoo routine I have found at an affordable price.
I found these 3 products in the hair care aisle at Kroger. We are going to use them in this order:
The Pantene Never Tell Dry Shampoo Spray instantly refreshes your hair between washes. It’s super light and absorbs dirt and oil without any residue or build up. My hair feels flexible and fresh after using it. With my fine Asian hair, this is almost an everyday staple to minimize oil build up. The Tapioca, pro-Vitamin B5 & wild mint nourishes your hair as it absorbs oil. Shake before using, part and lift sections of dry hair, spray at the roots (or wherever refreshment is needed most), and massage thoroughly with your fingertips. Then, brush it out and style!
What is a Dry Shampoo Foam you ask? It’s a whipped foam that cleans your hair without water. I think of it as next level dry shampoo. When I use dry shampoo for multiple days in a row, my hair can feel dried out. Not the case for the Pantene Cheat Day Dry Shampoo Foam. This foam on the other hand is a sulfate-free, non-drying foam that softens while it cleanses. It’s great for curly hair too without making it frizzy at the top. Shake the can, dispense a small amount into your fingertips (don’t spray directly at the root), then massage into your too with your fingertips, and brush out. Your hair may feel damp after you apply, but don’t worry, that’s normal. It’s just the foam doing its thing! It dries quickly.
Pantene Mist Behaving Dry Conditioner is like a shot of shine for my ends. Think of it as a waterless conditioner. My hair is so long, the ends can feel frizzy. This spray gets things untangled, smooth and manageable. Hold the can 6-8 inches away from your hair for optimal coverage (not too close to your hair), then spray from the mid-lengths and downwards on dry hair. Be sure to not spray directly at the roots!
Now we know our secret weapons, here is how I use them in 6 days!
Day 1: Natural - Never Tell Dry Shampoo Spray
I let my hair air dry and wear it straight. If I use a straightener, I will pump up the volume at the top with a few spritzes of Pantene Never Tell Dry Shampoo Spray at the roots.
Day 2: Curl - Never Tell Dry Shampoo Spray
By day two oil is already starting to show up at the roots making it slick with less volume. I brush out the top of my hair with Pantene Never Tell Dry Shampoo Spray for volume. It also helps my hair hold the curl better with more texture.
Day 3: Side Twist & Clip Up – Pantene Never Tell Dry Shampoo Spray and Pantene Mist Behaving Dry Conditioner Mist
My ends are feeling a little dry on day 3. I fresh the top with Pantene Never Tell Dry Shampoo one more time and moisturize the ends with Pantene Mist Behaving Dry Conditioning Mist. Hold the can 6-8. Inches away fro your hair for optimal coverage. Twist one side of the hair and secure with cute clip. Make sure to pull out pieces near the crown to give it more volume.
Day 4: Half Knot - The Pantene Cheat Day Dry Shampoo Foam
I refresh my hair with the Pantene Cheat Day Dry Shampoo Foam to give it a bit more moisture. Shake the can well and dispense a small amount on your fingertips. Once you’ve done that, section your hair and start applying a small amount at your roots to get rid of excess oils. After the foam dries, simply tie up a half knot, pinning the loose ends. I also re-curl the bottom.
Day 5: Texturized Pony - Pantene Never Tell Dry Shampoo Spray and Pantene Mist Behaving Dry Conditioner Mist
Almost there! Today hair is going up, but we still want lots of loose, tussled texture at the roots. Refresh with the Pantene Never Tell Dry Shampoo and tie up in a ponytail. Pull out loose face framing pieces. Wrap pony holder with hair and secure. Finally, spray Pantene Mist Behaving Dry Conditioning Mist on the ends for more defined waves.
Day 6 : Top Knot - The Pantene Cheat Day Dry Shampoo Foam
YAY we made it 6 days without washing hair! After refreshing with The Pantene Cheat Day Dry Shampoo Foam. Tie up in tight pony, pull out face framing pieces. Tease the pony, loosely wrap around the base and secure with pins! VOILA!
I think with a few more weeks of training, my hair will learn to release less and less oil and be more adapted to this new routine. I challenge you to put the new Pantene Waterless Collection to the test try this challenge with me! Let me know how many days you’ve made it!!! Pick yours up now at your local Kroger.
