Celebrating National Pet Day with Gordmans

It's so hard to believe that we are celebrating the 3rd National Pet Day with Olie and Atlas today! It seems like just yesterday we rescued Olie and drove all the way to Dallas for Atlas. They will forever be our first and second children. Kevin and I are both super passionate about rescuing animals and donating to local animal shelters whenever we can. It is incredibly amazing to partner with Gordmans, our favorite new stores in Texas, during this very special day.
Gordmans recently opened in the suburbs of Houston, Rosenberg to be exact. One of the reasons I love to shop at Gordmans is because of their involvement with the local communities. On April 7th, they had a wonderful National Pet Day Celebration where a local animal charity was present with adoptable animals. Shopper were also able to purchase pet toys, treats and more the support animal organizations! What an wonderful idea right? We met the lovely ladies at Saving Our Companion Animals of Fort Bend County who is dedicated to improving the lives of animals in Fort Bend. They had the sweetest litter of puppies and one of them reminded us of Olie as a baby! Click here to find out more about the adoptable puppies and kitties! Thanks to Gordmans' “Give for Goodness’ Sake” giving campaign, SOCA-FBC will benefit during the entire month of April from donations shoppers can make at check out. It's just amazing to see Gordmans going above and beyond to include a cause that is so close to many people's hearts. I sincerely hope a family found their future best friend that day!

If you haven't set foot in Gordmans before, here is what you can expect: low prices and an every changing selection. We visited the Gordmans' grand opening a few weeks ago and were so impressed with their offerings. We found cute decor items, toys for Kai and fabulous clothing & accessories for women and men. The icing on top is that they have the biggest pet section I have ever seen! Every chew toy you can imagine was neatly organized. We also found super adorable pet beds for every size and decor. The treat section was an entire isle long! I think I actually gasped when I saw it the first time. Needless to say, we had to treat Olie and Atlas for their special day. I spent under $25 and got a plush dog bed and 2 high quality stuffed animal toys. It really made spoiling our fur babies extra simple.
